Extremely slow Market2
I've been experiencing an extremely slow Market2 over the last several days. Approximately 30 seconds per buy.

Story time.
With out downtime on Sunday, we moved one server from the KC datacent up to the Amazon Cloud (in Ohio). Yay for reliability. However, what's happened is it's exposed the fact that MANY of our database queries are incredibly inefficient. When the servers were sitting within feet of each other, and we were utilizing the datacenter's internal DNS, we didn't notice how inefficient the queries were. They were still only taking nanoseconds to respond. However, when they are moving from KC to Ohio, they are taking more like milliseconds, and they add up very, very quickly. So, in short, I'm trying to get everything updated. I'll take a look at Market2 after I finish fixing a few of the other scripts (leaderboard generation, dividend calculation, etc), I'll take a peak at Market2. Thanks for bringing it to my attention; I hadn't noticed! Nick |
Every buy, all the time is taking 30 seconds? I just purchased Duffman in my Baseball Only port and it took about two seconds.

Yes, all the time for me. Same for yearly and TV.
For context, I used to be able to buy up entire page 1 buys on Market2 in about 3 seconds. Now it is taking me a good 5 minutes. I actually just timed it and I was able to buy 14 players using Market2 and it took 3 minutes, 44 seconds (so actually a little under 20 seconds per max buy, but it FEELS like 30+ seconds while you are sitting and waiting. |
Ok, thanks for the additional information. Buying 20 took 1.9 minutes... yikes! I've updated almost all of the LB scripts, so I'll try to look at it tomorrow. Thanks again!

Very strange message for me too when I tried to buy off of the Market2 page:
"You have purchased 10000 shares of 0 at the price of $0.00, for a total of $50.00." I have no idea what this did to my holdings or cash, but hey, maybe I wanted 10000 shares of 0. |

The problem only appears to be with TV ports....buys this morning are taking 65 seconds.
|
It's not as bad for the other ports, but still noticeable depending on port size. For instance, my Yearly port takes about 3 seconds per max buy whereas my other ports are almost instant.
