Fantasy MLB question...

I'm on yahoo and I have a team where we have a DL slot (I want to be able to sign someone, I'm thinking Erik Bedard). Does anyone know when players are first put on Disabled Lists? I figure April 4th (the first day of the season)? I don't mean to ask a silly question I just want to be able to get an early jump on a few players.

not sure how the transaction page at mlb.com works I guess.....but Bedard doesn't even have a team right now I don't think
