I appreciate that. I have a spread I use to find a lot of these that I thought I was going to find time to utilize this weekend....maybe tonight, certainly before Sunday (looking at Thursday teams pre-game)

Found a total of 196 that needed to be updated :p
....'course a large number of 'em are currently FAs..........problem is, a lot of football players hold on to the possibility they'll still get signed, so don't officially retire |
I never realized there was that much player movement in the NFL during their offseason and you had a way to track the players we had. I am not going to do all 196 players is that ok? :) Just to put this into some perspective about 33% of our players have moved in the offseason.
I thought of something about our discussion. I am pretty sure that the NFL market could use a few adjustments and we could start with the retired players as just one example; then onto players that have not played in several seasons. For all I know the other sports could use the same adjustments as well. This discussion also should help us realize just how much you do for us during your time you could be doing other things I am sure. So I just want to thank you for all that you do for us. |
I do need to work up a deactivation list....didn't get it done last time I started, so there's even more again now.
It's funny...I've had family ask why I keep doing this for years...and they don't even know about half the time I spend. It's just kind of become part of my lifestyle. We're right in the timeframe to officially say the stock game is now 14 years old...the site hit that this spring. If you look at some of the older stocks, like Tom Brady (who may be the oldest stock now that Peyton retired)....his playerid is 24....we're approaching 4100. Player profiles have years of experience on them (which was supposed to autoupdate each year but that never happened). He is listed with 3 years of experience! |
I will try to give the potential deactivation list look today. I always enjoy doing that.
|
I had intended to start with guys currently listed as FA or RET on the market........which always includes guys who should stay for now, and doesn't include some who shouldn't...but is always a solid starting point. I'll see about posting THAT list tonight.
|
Looking through the list of guys, I don't see any glaring needs to get rid of people that are on rosters. I am not as up on the defensive guys and their playing time, so there may be some of those guys not worth having, I'm not sure.
The only FA guy that I noticed doesn't belong on that list is Vontaze Burfict, as he is still a Bengal, just suspended 3 games. The rest of the FA guys, I say get rid of and they can always be brought back if they sign with a team! And don't forget the deceased/honorary stocks as well, Noll and Ryan can safely RIP now, I think. |
Seems the system you used to ID player's teams confused the defensive Charles Johnson, who's still with Carolina, with the wide receiver Charles Johnson who is on the Vikings (both listed as Vikings).
|
hmm....possibly so.........
A Mark sighting! howzit? |
