trading suspended?
 

After finally getting in this morning, I am now trying to make my buys for today. I can get to the market page, but when I click on buy, it says that trading is suspended. I don't know when else I would be able to do them, as I could not before the normal divi time. Are you planning on two days of divis tomorrow, or some other option? If doubling up, I'm not sure I want to fill my monthly and quarterly. Please advise. Thanks.:dangit:

reopened for now while we figure out how to handle all this......having problems gaining access to do things we need to do......like stopping the market from resetting, etc....even running divis right now...

...but we're gonna need to close it back up again in a few minutes..............there's no absolutely 'right' way to handle situations like this

I was not able to make buys in monthly or TV.....or sells in TV. I was also not able (obviously) to make my pick10 buys. Is that tough noogies for me?

Same here. I make most of my buys in the AM and got hosed this morning. I guess LT'ing NBA & NHL ('cept goalies) pays off sometimes...

OK, re: Pick 10 [not that it's a huge competition .. yet] was reset. Orren and I decided not to count delta's for today.

As for buys .. I'm sorry, but yes, tough noogies.

As for sells .. you can sell until 02:00pm EST.

Put my shoes on for a minute and tell me how you'd have handled it differently...bearing in mind that you don't know how many buys are generally made in the morning, you don't have a lot of free time today, and you seem to find yourself in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation far too often. And, as usual, you don't necessarily have a lot of time to make your decision because people are asking for your decision....right now...so you've got to process all the implications as quickly as possible.

Now.....take off my shoes..I gotta go grab a burger.

If by right you mean that nobody will be upset, true.

If by right you mean that people are treated fairly, false.

I got messed around a little.. but no where near what those two gentlemen above me got. By employing the (clearly wrong) solution that you did, you're saying either "stay awake until the last whistle is blown" or "take a guess or two for the gipper".

The only clear solution when there is no site access two hours (or more) prior to divis is :
RESET back to the previous morning's pre-divi and SCRAP the day in question. That is the only fair way. Sure, peeps will be pizzed that their day's "efforts" were in vain -- and rightfully so. But that is a lesser evil than allowing some with full ports to compete with partial ports and with empty ports. That is just WRONG.

I, like Led, make the majority of my buys in the morning before I leave for work......I also sell off any negs before divi as well. I LT SOME NHL/NBA...not hardly as much as Led does. To go from 2500.00 (or thereabouts-I'm sure Randy could tell you excatly) behind 2nd in monthly to 26K behind is hard to take. Now.....by no stretch am I implying a chance to win the monthly...not sure anyone can beat Randy or the bitter guy from down under but.......ya never know.

You live and learn everyday.... You think of new ways on how to run a game, or run your life....

---- happens... 98% of the time the site is up and running fine.... Losing a day... Losing a few buys... Isn't going to kill much... Unless you are talking about ur monthly and 1/4ly comps....

While I empathize with Orren being between a rock and a hard place and would not want to be making that decision on the run as it were......I, too, have to believe that resetting to yesterday would be the only fair way. Now...that being said...had all of my picks been in and I didn't get unintentionally hosed...would I feel the same way? A resounding YES...as it HAS happened before and I took the position of resetting. Thanks Randy.......:cheers:
