...not the normal thing to happen at a wine bar in Waikiki

more to come ....later........I guarantee it.

So, when will the time come when we will hear the "truth"? His face certainly looks bad according to the pictures. Is there a gambling debt or (even better) jealous husband out there?

In a new twist, the homeless woman, Charade Keane, gave Nine News Australia a different account of the incident on Monday evening.

Keane said she found Allenby a block away from the bar, not six miles, where he was trying to pay two men $500 to get his belongings back. She told Nine News he requested she use his remaining credit card to withdraw the money to pay the men off. When the men became aggressive, she helped Allenby leave the situation in a cab with a retired military man. The man reportedly paid for the taxi back to his hotel at Waialae Country Club.
Story here.

Here's an account from one of the homeless men that Allenby was arguing with before the homeless woman helped him into a cab...

Well, that story does outline the "known" facts but it really doesn't explain anything...to my satisfaction anyway.

I hope Allenby recovers, physically and psychologically, and that the criminals who assaulted and robbed him are caught and brought to justice.

Unless it's all a fabrication, in which case I don't know what to think.

regardless of the truth, there's a minimum of a decent made-for-TV movie in there.....

rich76 25 Jan 2015 01:48 PM

the plot thickens...................

Honolulu Police announced Wednesday that an arrest has been made in connection with the Jan. 16 robbery of Robert Allenby.

Patrick Owen Harbison, 32, was arrested on three counts of second-degree identity theft, three counts of second-degree attempted theft, and one count of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.

According to Hawaii News Now, Harbison had been in custody for weeks on unrelated crimes but was identified on surveillance video using Allenby’s credit cards.

According to Allenby, over $20,000 in fraudulent purchases had been charged to his stolen credit cards, which were taken after he missed the cut at the Sony Open.

Allenby originally told Golf Channel that he had been kidnapped, beaten and thrown from the trunk of a car after leaving a wine bar (he later said he was merely repeating what a homeless woman had told him). However, Honolulu police said in a statement that “no additional suspects are being sought” and the case had been turned over to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

Harbison was being held on a contempt warrant and had five previous convictions, including a felony drug conviction, according to the police release.

According to video footage, Allenby left the wine bar at 11:06 p.m. and doesn’t remember what happened after that until he awoke at 1:27 a.m.

Sounds like he got a prostitute and the pimp got involved.....I dont buy the kidnap story.....police also claim he was never at the club he claimed to be at...that was the ID thefter. I know if I was on the road and couldnt explain my absence and losing my wallet...I would claim kidnapped too.

Allenby fires his caddie 1/2 thru 2nd round.

SiteWolf 24 Jul 2015 10:48 AM

Doesn't a volunteer from the gallery end up a caddie almost every week?

rich76 24 Jul 2015 07:43 PM

Allenby is a d-i-c-k....he is not liked by many on the tour or the caddie pool. He has a history of being an impudent bully and talks down to others....those that work for him and some that play with him. He has a history of being a cry baby and like potus always blames others in team losses. Those that compete in the President's Cup would not lose a minute's sleep if he never played in one again .

I've only seen him up close twice at a tournament.........and he does talk to his caddy like he's a serf. He's had, I'm sure, over 25, if not 30 or more, caddies in his 20 years on tour. That is NOT normal or even close to normal

What I do not get is how a guy like that is so charitable too........bi-polar? I just can't see it making any sense.
