And those Yankee fans that hate the Red Sox would like an honorary Billy Buck released.

Brandon Woodruff should be with German on the watch list for when sampling is large enough.

German hasn't been IPOd for one reason and one reason only.....and that reason isn't because of the team he pitches for.

The reason is similar to why some of those Anthony posted about haven't been IPOd yet- Orren has simply missed them or not gotten around to them. I don't know what jokers you referred to, Rich, but the last 4 pitchers I IPOd...didn't like 3 of 4 of them win their next outing and one pitch a shutout? I even said in my admin message, I believe, that those 4 were selected because they were pitching that or the next day. German either wasn't or I flat missed him.

How many years have I requested help in figuring out who to IPO? I probably wasn't even 50 years old yet and I'm 63.

And yes, I saw Buckner died and will certainly consider an IPO...just not for that reason.

This is just off the cuff and I don't have a list of specific names, but I have been getting the feeling going through box scores that there are a few closers who are not listed. I know some vulture a save here and there and don't have the sample size or potential impact, but some have multiple saves. Maybe a scan of save totals by league would give some good candidates. To me, relief guys have to be watched as they have larger positive AND negative results. Thanks. Just my two cents worth..

Also, there will be a new pickem winner this month as I will be out of the country without a lot of access on a cruise ship. Don't want to spend huge $$ for online access just to put in picks...

I was going to go thru closers this time around but ran out of time. Several teams don't have traditional closers, more so than most years. i.e. so far this year my Twins have now 5 guys who've gotten saves after May got one last night.

so tax season was pretty good this year given you're taking a cruise? ;)

jbrune56 17 Jun 2019 01:03 PM

Every time the tax laws get "simpler" my business goes up! I have had more new clients since the tax law was passed at the end of 2017 than the two years before that.

Going to Iceland for three days (tourism appears to be skyrocketing there) then a cruise round trip Copenhagen going to Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersburg Russia, Estonia, and a train to go to Berlin. For 40th wedding anniversary which was actually last year. Looking forward to it.

I shoulda just gone into taxes....in fact did look fairly seriously a few years back...

cool sounding trip....my grandparents all came from Denmark or Norway, and always thought I'd like to go there once in my life

You likely never 'knew' him, but there was a (then) teenager at WSS who basically learned English playing fantasy sports...even a Cubs fan if memory serves....played here for awhile but real life took his time. Last I talked to him, Sten has I think 2-3 bar/restaurants in Talinn, Estonia, where he's always lived. You'd blow his mind if you walked into one and told him hello from Jockstocks!

rich76 17 Jun 2019 10:04 PM

He was a die hard Yankees fan.......Suzie and I recorded Yanks games for him and sent to him....VCR tapes.

:p :p :p

SiteWolf 17 Jun 2019 10:52 PM

seems like there was a Chicago connection somewhere.....oh, the Bulls, yes?

SiteWolf 18 Jun 2019 08:34 AM

Unlisted guys with at least 6 saves
Felipe Vazquez PIT
Hector Neris PHI
Luke Jackson ATL
Hansel Robles LAA
Blake Parker MIN
Pedro Strop CHC
Shawn Kelley TEX
Taylor Rogers MIN
Diego Castillo TB
Jose Alvarado TB

the Twins' Trevor May should be moved to RP...may be others
I hesitate thinking Blake Parker...never seems like he can have a clean outing...but it is what it is, he's got 9 saves (tho losing opps to Rogers at this point)
