Default Buffalo Roundup- live on TV

https://www.sdpb.org/live/

Every year, in Custer State Park (one of the largest state parks in the country) rounds up their herd of 1500 buffalo (ok bison)....originally they did it strictly to check the health of the herd, update some vaccinations, cull some from the herd for sale...they try to keep the herd right at 1500.

Now they make a show of it...and about 30,000 people are currently heading into the park to participate. They have real cowboys and some ATVs out rounding up every buffalo they can find from all over the park and then stampede them over the hill and into corrals.

Naturally, the year I went, there was some illness in the herd so their stampede was more of a fast trot...and, with 2 gates for the herd to choose, they chose the one furthest from me. Still...good time, then after you can go to the corrals and see them up close plus there's a chuckwagon with, of course, bbq'd buffalo sandwiches or stew.

Anyway, didn't know until last night they're broadcasting it live on public broadcasting tv......so the link above would get you that feed.

The feed starts just before 10:30 central (which is 9:30 where the buffalo are) this morning.
