Question here....because I was confused during the Vikings game (about a lot of things...their play calling at the top of the list)...about the game clock.

As the Vikings were far too non-chalantly driving down the field for their 1st of 2 late TDs, Percy Harvin ran for a 1st down and went out of bounds. When the announcer said the game clock would restart when the official placed the ball I thought 'does he think this is a college game?' ....but sure enough, the clock started again

When did THAT start? And if that started this year.....games should be shorter, not longer than last year, yes, Mr. Replacement Official?
