When I originally formed the JFCL we used rotisserie scoring because we did have multiple leagues for many of the sports. We had so many players the only fair method we came up with to "gauge" how well a team was doing was to award points for the team(s) you drafted and that way your team was given a point value and then when thrown together with all the other JFCL teams it could be sorted quickly and easily. imo, I would still prefer using the rotisserie scoring over the head-to-head.
And when I first came up with the idea of a Fantasy Championship League, I wanted to make sure the fantasy sports existed online for easy scoring, was easy for everyone to get in and, most importantly, was free. Yahoo! at the time, and up until now, was able to fill that bill. But, I would think any Fantasy Championship League would come to some consensus on what sports you wanted to participate in and then go from there. If you just wanted to do the big four, NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL you are guaranteed a fantasy league for the entire year. March Madness, imo, was always a gimmick contest, but because it was free and members enjoyed it, it was brought into the JFCL.
The original rules and website are still online...complete with the first four season standings here...
