Server down question

I tried to get on this morning to make buys for my monthly port, but alas, no connection to the server. Is that just the way the cookie crumbles or do monthly ports get adjusted to reflect that all players couldn't log in at a certain time?

Well, it gets to be a loaded question with no fair answer, I guess...at least when, as far as I know, the issue was an hour or two? I mean, so presumably only a few (at least in comps) were effected. Of course, I'd prefer there never be an issue that raises this question.

I don't know who was effected and how much. First, we don't have the tools in place for me to see what one person's gains have been the last few days compared to others...if I did I could see that their gains were noticeably low. Second, if someone had low gains, is it because they didn't play...or couldn't play.

That said, I'm also one who believes in fairness and we're still small enough I can make exceptions. If you can tell me about how much you believe you lost, I'd be more than happy to bump your monthly's cash. Do you remember where you were in relation to someone else on the leaderboard yesterday compared to today?

Happened to me too, sometime after midnight EST, but I was able to login in the morning and make the buys.

Fairness definitely requires that adjustments be allowed for those others who were affected. If I hadn't been able to buy in the morning, I would have been complaining too.

For the record, according to my transaction log, I was able to make my last buy at 12:59am EST, but my next buy (presumably just after 1:00am) was when the site went down.

Again, it didn't affect me in the end, but I put that out there to help establish the timeline.

Thanks for the quick response Orren. I don't know exactly how much I didn't gain cuz I had no idea what market buys were but I think badgerfan was unable to play cuz we are nearly the same difference as the day before. Yes, when I have but 10-15 minutes to make buys in the morning, I buy stocks based on buy volume, position of player, and name recognition (the more obscure with odd lot buys sometimes provides a nice divi). Maybe not the smartest way to play, however, it works when you are strapped for tIme.

Btw, I tried to log in at 5:15 am EST.

actually I bumped you a generic 100k a couple hours ago...so if you're near the same gap as you remember, perhaps that's a fairly close guess as to the missed gain?

there's no wrong way to play...except not to play at all
