I think he is a Brewer now.

Story Here

The Brewers did not have to give up a major league player quite yet for Sabathia.

It will be interesting to see what the Cubs do now that the Brewers have two of the better starters in the division now.

And the Brewers are definitely going for it because they may not have Sabathia or Sheets in their rotation next season because both of them are free agents at the end of this season.

I know they didn't give up their very top prospects, but I can't believe they'd even MAKE the trade without a new deal in place for CC....but, stranger things have happened.

For once, I agree with Orren. But really, I think this trade is either going to be really good, or really bad for the Brewers. One one hand, they have two powerhouse aces, but on the other, both of them are free agents at season's end. This trade could prove to seriously hurt the Brewers if both C. C. and Ben Sheets leave.

Take a shot at winning now and hope for good draft picks from CC and Sheets leaving.

Cubs won't make a move because of Brewers getting CC, but if they can get a 1 (Rich Harden), 2 or maybe even 3 starter they will. Like their chances of making playoffs if they stand pat, but are they confident Z, Dempster and Lily can bring home a WS?

Hendry on TV now, said they were working on this for a couple weeks.
Gallagher is only 21 and will be in someone's rotation a long time, probably as a #3, but 'could' develop into a star.
Murton, solid hitter, ok speed, below average corner fielder, never would play much with Soriano and Fukudome there. Patterson, very good minor league stats at 2b, a burner on the bases, played some outfield with the Cubs after Soriano went down, and not too well. (Corey's little bro).
Never heard of the catcher Donaldson in class A, found this though "Josh was named the 2nd best prospect in the NWL and 7th best in the Cubs organization by Baseball America."
Straight for Harden, not a steal, but with Gaudin too, I think so.
Now he has to stay healthy, 6 dl's in 6 years.
