Default OK this puzzles me

I'm sorry I know I'm supposed to be a good little liberal but this really urks me.

Why is it we as a nation are concerned with humane and comfortable execution of murderers who clearly had no such concerns for their victims. Personally I don't care if lethal injection is painful or not. It's not like it's given to shoplifters or perpetrators of victimless crime.

In my opinion (which yes I know counts for little in the grand scheme of things) if you willingly kill, dismember, and disembowel another human it's pretty clear you weren't thinking of their comfort or well being. Why then should I give a damn about yours?

Just because I can:

I love the people who are fiercely opposed to Capital Punishment, but are proponents of abortion. And don't try to tell me a fetus isn't a human being; that argument is getting older and more stupid by the minute.

i suppose the same can be said about folks who support the public sanctioned killingof criminals and yet cry about the sanctity of life when it comes to abortion.

of course that would be another thread all by itself and one we've pretty much exhausted over the course of the last four 1/2 years.

and for the record, i'm not a supporter of abortion as a form of birth control but do support it for extenuating circumstances and more importantly i'm not presumptious enough to assume i have the right to tell any other person what he/she can or cannot do with their body except of course my kids. just figured i'd make that once again known so as to eliminate the need to rehash the pros and cons of an issue that most of us who frequent this board (read as males) really have no business discussing in the first place as it's not our bodies and we don't have to worry about ever being in the position to make that choice for our own body.

So, even though you fathered your kids [this is for all men who read this], it's really your wife's kid, and she can do whatever the ----- she wants to it?

How am I supposed to know if it cruel and usual if I don't even know how he would be executed?

Each state has a different way of executing people right?

Has someone not been executed before because their lawyer argued successfully against various methods of execution that some would say is cruel and unusual punishment?

Are there any laws at the federal or state level that cleary defines what methods are cruel and unusual?

There is one little problem with cruel and unusual. This is pretty subjective right? Some might say that all methods of execution are cruel or unusual; and others may say some are cruel and usual and other methods of execution are not cruel and usual.

There is something else that really bothers me about this story.

Why was the state ready to execute him before all of his appeals and other legal arguments had all been fully addressed by the various courts?

And here there was a discussion on the political board of another game I play thanks to this site: http://www.clarkprosecutor.org/html/death/usexecute.htm

It lists all the executions in the US since 1976, and if you click on each case it gives a background on the case and other details like their last meal and last words.

Only in so much as a fetus (or that form of life) isn't convicted of murder, and the additional requirements to even qualify for the death penalty.

Not saying convicted murderers must be executed. They are however, subject for the consideration due to their own actions.
