there was a link on the old forum to "messenger".

unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be one here.

That raises the question....

With the new fourms... Do we keep the old messenger system or not? Do we strictly run this system or run combo of both?

From talking with Orren in the past, I know not everyone uses/visits the fourms. If that is true - not everyone would get their mail from the fourms...

So, i'm guessing running a combo of both system would be the best idea... Maybe even show how adding the mail icon into the fourms and a messenger link...

If we do use a mail icon with this page, can we NOT use a green envelope on a green background? Thank you

It wasn't a blue envelope... It was a white line drawn on the blue banner to make it look like one

Or... It was just a blue envelope....

I was thinking of maybe having the word "Messenger" be blinking like red and white or something to alert you of a new message on these new forums.

I'm not much into programming, so I'm just throwing the suggestion out there.

I've been thinking on it some, and I'd like to make it so that something alerts you as soon as you get a new message ... it'd only be used on the forums for now, but would give me some practice with Ajax.

hadn't mentioned this to Nick yet 'cause I thought maybe I could figure it out.....but FWIW, we wouldn't do anything blinking 'cause it'd be annoying to some...even medically irritating for others (those prone to seizures for example)

...but we'll see what we can do....
