Edwards apparently doesn't learn

talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

OK so the idea of using memorial day to speak out is questionable. Personally I would think that it would be in poor taste but that's just me.

However, the following is nothing less than stupidity.

One of the things we ought to be thinking about is some level of mandatory service to our country, so that everybody in America — not just the poor kids who get sent to war — are serving this country

now mandatory service would have it's advantages i'm not pointing that out as the point of stupidity. But, one would think after the recent Kerry fiasco it might not be a good idea to make blanket statments about the entire armed forces being either stuipd (as Kerry put it) or poor as Mr. Edwards chose to label them.
