So, happy for you man, beers on me

Well you obviously didn't need my input Wolfy..

Was a no brainer, never ever work for people you don't like...

Your old/new job may be a gamble, but look at the opportunities you have.. the owner wants semi retirement... all you need to do is get the company back on track... which you will do because it will be a position that you obviously enjoy..

If he sees his company performing again and doesn't have to lift a finger it appears that there will be rewards...

Buy a house - not where you work - but where you will want to retire to.. rent it out and let someone else pay the mortgage until your ready to live there.. . live near work for now

Also pay extra into your pension fund - not sure of US rules, but even if its only a cash back plus interest option it is money working for you..

and compulsory savings...

Problem solved...
Cheers,
Polar

Good to 'see' you Choc!

yeah, too many things have just fallen into place for this to not be the right move for me at this point.......and living in that apartment cheaply allows me to save at a higher rate

....saving for whatever it is that comes next, which for the first time I can actually think about.........yes, I could buy a house somewhere and rent it out....I could also buy a lake lot with plans to build on it....I could also save up to buy an RV and drive from national park to national park....or I could do some combination of all of that......I'm looking forward to the enjoyment of realistically planning for it all

..........'course finding an investor here could also change all of that

Don't piss off old people- the older we get, the less life in prison is a deterrent.
I'm pretty confident my last words will be 'well crap, that didn't work'.
Of all the things I've lost over the years, I think I miss my metabolism most of all.
Nachos are just tacos that don't have their s_it together.
I'm not adding this year to my age because I really didn't use it.
Ever notice that extra fries and exercise sound a lot alike?

Getting closer, things falling into place nicely.
Pulled a big trailer (bigger than my Jeep prolly liked, but took 'er easy) over Saturday, partially settled in, drove back Sunday. Just got rid of some furniture I didn't want to take, so only have my office chair to sit on for a few days, but it's comfy with an ottoman....will finish the move this coming Saturday with a smaller trailer.
