Ten of those are the result of a ridiculously low scoring PGA tourney. When a -7 gets you a tie for 65th, and -6 misses the cut, it's like that.

Thanks, as always for the info

Those guys, unlike PGA, suck.

-6, for 4 rounds, isn't that good Bill.

sidenote......

the significance of these courses is HUGE btw. If you'll notice...a signifiacnt majority of the top 25 are not the "bangers". These are shotmakers and real good putters courses. Yes the guys that can go long could actually TEAR THE AZZ out of these courses....IF... a big IF...they are "2nd shot makers" and putters......but other than a handful of guys, most of the bangers aren't the best of the best from 150 yds and in....and I can't begin to tell you how many of those longballers would have had stellar careers if they could have putted worth a damm. There are probably 500+ pros and potential pros that can strike the ball consistenly and get it way out there...but that is precisely where the famous saying "Drive for show and putt for dough" came from. Were I playing monthly there's no way I wouldn't have kept LEONJ in the port for today....../wink

If par were 72, using 2007 scoring stats, -6 after 72 would have you tied for 15th.

43 guys at -10 or less is some pretty low scoring.

I realize that spans many courses and conditions (and pars), but this week is producing low scores relative to avarage.

take out PGA, and their still isn't an NBA divi in the top 10.

scoring avg has to be compared to the rest of the field at each individual tournament. The overall scoring category is not indicative to what happens weekly

again..that's over 4 rounds that's an avg of -2.5 per round..not that great at all depending on the course of course

Kinda' sorta' my point. This week is low, compared to average. When the Open rolls around, and the leader is -4 after 72: that's the opposite of the spectrum.

A leader at -23 for gosh sakes, and a field of 65 at least -6 is low. If it isn't, what the heck would be? Guess we'll have to disagree. Not much is going to convince me it's high, or even average. Again, relative to the norm.
