I regularly check the forums through the day but go to my portfolios far less regularly.
Wondering why 'mail' icon does not appear on forum pages. (would be great if the link 'messenger' lit up when mail is in.) Maybe could put next to a donation banner?

yeah, there's a distinct difference between forum pages and all other site pages.....the code is largely vbulletin's, not our own
tho yes, it's one of those things I've thought about but not looked into...perhaps there would be a way to put the needed code into the forum header somewhere......and yes, a donation banner too!

I was looking some this weekend to see if there might just be a snippet of code I could add to, say, the Forum News area that might accomplish this (even if it meant darkening the background whereever the code got placed so the same mail icon would be visible)....but didn't find where the indicator gets pulled from
different subject....maybe I'm the only one, but it seems to happen at work and at home for me......but lately sometimes the forums hang or don't load properly and if I'm looking correctly it seems every time to be hanging on tag.contextweb.com ...so don't know if that's one particular banner ad or particular group or what

I have noticed the same thing re: the forums. At the risk of sounding dumb........could it possibly because of all the graphic files Rick and I have added to the "counting thread"?

nah, rich....you haven't added any graphic files, you've added links TO graphic files.....so the only load time involved there is when any individual person goes to threads like that...and then it's just load time for them personally...and not our bandwidth, even
let's see if you're running into what I am.......when you do run into this, often the top of the page loads, but not a banner at the top or the forums themselves, not even the forum news......so all you see is our logo and the area where ad banners would normally be...and only a refresh or two in your browser gets the forums to load .....at least that's what happens to me and when I look in the bottom left of my browser, the addy showing indicating what's trying to load is always/usually tag.contextweb.com
