Default 1st HR DERBY Competition

The All-Star Home Run Derby is going to be this Tuesday night (7/13) at Angel Stadium (I'll be sitting in right field with my glove in the air!!!). The competition is simple pick two Home Run Derby contestants that you think will hit the most combined total Home Runs at the Derby. You may pick any combination of hitters, so long as you have two. NOTE: There are still two batters (one from each league) that have not been named yet, once they are named I will post them.

TIE-BREAKER-predict the total amount of homeruns you think will be hit by all eight players (combined) in the HR Derby.

The NL contestants are:

Hanley Ramirez (FLA)-13 HR's, 53 RBI's, .292
Corey Hart (MIL)-19 HR's, 61 RBI's .288
Matt Holliday (STL)-14 HR's, 44 RBI's, .305
NL BATTER #4 (to be named)

The AL contestants are:

Miguel Cabrera (DET)-21 HR's, 73 RBI's, .347
David Ortiz (BOS)-17 HR's 55 RBI's, .263
Vernon Wells (TOR)-19 HR’s, 49 RBI’s, .272
AL BATTER #4 (to be named)

Any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask me. All entries must be submitted to Orren or myself (via J$ messenger or e-mail entries to [email protected]) by Tuesday 5pm.

You don't have to submit your teams now, but if you're planning on submitting a team, please let me know ASAP so I can set some things up. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and good luck.

Thanks Orren, to answer a question about the tie-breaker, the combined total for all rounds for all 8 batters. Hope this clears up any confusion.

There will be three rounds total, round 1 has 8 competitors, the top 4 advance and then the top 2 advance to the final.

To better assist in picking a tie-breaker I've included the total for the last 6 HR derbys (before that they used a different format).

2009-82
2008-105
2007-74
2006-87
2005-108
2004-88

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Two guys are hardly a "team" unless you're Nick and Orren.
