Golf IPO's and
Orren....projection updates? The season starts in exactly 2 weeks from this Thursday...as always with the Mercedes Championship.
As far as IPO's...the immediate one coming to mind is this years ROY...Brandt Snedeker (sp?). I think he is a MUST.He has a win a 3rd 6 top 10's and 13 top 25's. He's made 23cuts out of 29 tourns enetered Others that seriously need to be considered for that 1st tourn are: Daniel Chopra - Charley Hoffman - Henrik Stenson - After that tourn there are some reasonbly high ranking guys from the $$$$$ list that should also be considered: Heath Slocum John Senden Nick Watney

Thank you once again rich for the good info.
I have a question though. Are there any golfers we should delist? These are golfers that are out of the top 125 on the money list and have to find a way to get their card somehow. Money List Ben Curtis Ted Purdy Joe Durant Brett Quigley Harrison Frazar Robert Gamez Jason Bohn Ryan Palmer Corey Pavin Bob Tway Greg Owen Lee Janzen Chris Riley Kirk Triplett Joey Sindelar Olin Browne Ben Crane Jeff Sluman John Daly Skippy We have to keep Skippy for obvious reasons. Todd Hamilton Darren Clarke Brad Faxon David Duval Fred Couples Loren Roberts Brandt Jobe I took Frank Lickliter II and Carlos Franco off the list above because they earned their card at Q school. Link Here Isn't Loren Roberts mostly playing on the Champions tour? I seem to very vaguely remember he is old enough to do so and that may be why he only played in three tournament on the tour this year?

Peter....good point on the guys that didn't make the "list". BUT.....some will have career earnings exemptions...quite a few others will get at least 6+ sponsor exemptions and still more that will play their way back quickly via the Nationwide tour. As far as Roberts (and a few other senior players) they will make their limited appearances on the "flat belly tour. Maybe not Roberts as much but guys like Funk and a few others will, in fact, play a few tourns...especially majors. IMHO we should keep them active for those tourns.

Thank you Rich I just saw the list of money leaders and I thought boy a lot of our golfers are out of the top 125.
I was just wondering if there were obvious golfers to delist and it sounds like no one jumps out right out at the moment even if they only play in the majors and a few other tournaments. You mentioned sponsors exemptions I was just wondering ballpark how many do a tournament give out for each tournament; and it would seem to me that Wie getting at least some may "squeeze" other players out that may be more deserving. Don't get me started on Michelle Wie again it is not even the new year yet.

So what do they call the Champions tour?
Not flat belly tour? And trust me I know it gets harder and harder to keep a flat belly the older a person gets.

Possibly you didn't catch this before....or, I lose track, maybe I didn't announce or mention it until after your post here............but projections should be updated.
Now...IPOs In looking over the FedEx points list, below are guys not listed here that were top 40 in points last year....if that's a good indicator. Brandt Snedeker* Heath Slocum* Henrik Stenson* Bubba Watson Ken Duke Nick Watney* Mark Wilson I *'d the ones above that are also on your list, Rich. You also have: Deepok I mean Daniel Chopra (114) Charley Hoffman (46) John Senden (48) (FedEx ranking in parenthesis) I also have member choice IPOs for 2 Aussies....one who hasn't played on tour that much as yet, Brett Rumford, and one who has, Nick Flanagan. I mention them just so you're aware there will be at least those 2 IPOs as well. Since I don't yet know what we'll do re Champions Tour, I'm not worried about delisting any of those guys just yet......but is there any golfers who basically aren't ON a tour at this point? Nick Price? David Duval? |
