Default MLB fun to watch: ? AZ

If U R a DBacks fan you gotta love it. Back to back walk off homer nights and 7 in a row to get back to 1 back in the NL West. Big Unit is done so this is a complete Baby Back team. Without Randy the Payroll is about the lowest in the league. Average age has to be under 25. Tony Clark is the only veteran to turn to. Byrnzee is a maniac who bring pure joy and fun to the clubhouse and fans. How can U not love rooting for a young team battling so hard as they have. This makes for some exciting baseball. You don't expect them to win so when they do it is pure joy.

does this ring a bell?

Yeah Suns owner wants to be under the luxury cap so bad he is trading away EVERYTHING. I mena 1st rounders in 2008 and 2010 and Jurt Thomas for a 2nd round conditional pick? I don't care what relief we gain it is a boneheaded move. It is hard to compete when you're cheap.

Sorry Rich but all u did is show how I mistype in the dark. The Suns have marquee players who must be paid and are expected to win. Sure it is great to see that nucleus blossom but the DBacks are not suppose to win. That is the great thing. I am not pickin but would you rather have a $250 million dollar team that is expected to win and lets you down or a $40 million dollar team that is not suppose to even compete for years and yet they are battling for the division?

My preference is rooting for a team with a chance to win.....if they let me down que sera sera.......the $$$$ is not even relevant.

I feel U Rich. Like I said though teams like NY, BOS, Red Wings, others with high payrolls and an All-Star lineup are expected to win. If they do nobody cares and we all say "Figures". In the betting world it would be called chalk or to form or as expected. No drama just goin through the motions. Maybe if you ever rooted for a team not meant to win U would realize it. Maybe think of the 1980 Miracle on Ice team. That should give you the perspective needed here.

you assume an awful lot Troy. You don't think I've ever rooted for a team not expected to win? you also assume an awful lot suggesting that I need a perspective adjustment. I rooted for the Mets throughout the 60's (when they started and were losing 100 games a year) I rooted for the Jets since their inception when they started as the N Y Titans playing in the Polo grounds....in both cases look up 1969....then tell me about rooting for a team not expected to win and what perspective is needed where.

Hell Troy I was impressed that Rich stated the fact he was rooting for a team in the 60's. I wasnt even thought of then.

LOL I was -16 then. Wow. They used rocks and had leather helmets and gloves only. Isotoners. Wood cletes. Rich emulates their swing with his cane.

Default Its Time

Its time for one of the Cliques to weigh in.....The Outer Circle does not normally take a position on rooting for the teams mired in squalor VS the greedy win mongers....nor do we side with younger or older posters who tangle on these here threads....tho I must say I have never seen Rich brandish a cane....and dont believe the rumor that Rich went to college with Red Grange, that said....I also do not believe the rumors that Troy is a closet Yankees fan, and that he is president of the AZ chapter of the Spice Girls fan club....no worries....its all good...and yes...the NL West is fun to watch.....

Falcons on 2007....I dont think so.......
Post away men....but dont forget the Truckers Creed.....

It's nice to see the Dbacks doing well. Too bad I don't live there anymore. I enjoyed going to the games with my son. That's okay, I will be taking him up to see a Mariners game with some of his uncles once we find a day that works for all of us.

8 str8 wins and 3 str8 walk-offs. Excitement is high for the 1st place AZ DBacks. Haing a payroll = to the Devil Rays makes it a GREAT feat.

Just curious as to how old you are Troy. Rich said he was cheering for the Mets in 1969, and you said you were 16 then. That would make you like 55 today. I always thought you played it off as being much younger than that.
