Not that I know this would be fair...or right....but it's something I've thought about..........some form of 'handicap' next month for this month's winner
i.e. win this month and your 'reward' is to start next month with $900,000 haven't gone further with the idea given I don't know if it deters people from playing monthly more than it encourages....

We have a record via the Oasis of all of the Monthly competition winners. How about something like a -$10,000 handicap per career monthly win to start the Monthly? That would represent a 1% handicap for each career win. Not insurmountable, but would definitely give the others in the field an early lead and would make it more challenging to repeat the more monthly comps you win. Maybe cap it at a maximum of a 10% (100k) handicap or maybe not.
As of recently, I think December 2015, here were the career monthly win totals (need to factor in ProneEisenrott's and rrock's wins over the last five or six months): Winner Monthly Relic/Being 49 Polar 20 rich76 12 markjohn 10 rrock33 5 TroyB911/AzElvis 5 ProneEisenrott 4 cmcjr99 4 ibzilly 3 djrogers378 3 warpig 3 carjam12 2 itsanewday 2 carpetman 2 herbhub 2 anthonyovitt 2 happyyak 2 TheGreatNorthern 2 Bartsie 2 BoLaTengo 2 notredame79 2 RedSoxFanFiver 2 hilopapio 1 Dwey1965 1 jk592 1 malamute19 1 buxvet 1 tinyc 1 Broxton 1 Carolinaboys 1 ehughes908 1 joehuelsman 1 ldzppln 1 mixmariner 1 rjknyy 1 TheWinman 1

Winning the comps is mostly about compounding. Very important to get off to a good start so you can buy more of the top sooner. Being shorted 10% to start would be extremely cruel. And MLB should make Kershaw throw every 10th pitch with his right hand. |

reality is, if I thought handicapping was the right thing to do, I'd have been doing it
what I'd much rather be able to do is create a ladder system...win at one level and you move to the next...reach the top level and you start over at the second level...that would keep the first level full of people going for their first win

Unless, of course, you think this will dramatically increase participation.

That would be a reason it's not been a priority to add in...a step that wouldn't be taken until other things had been completed that noticeably increase site and competition numbers.
There are dozens of things that have had to remain only on my drawing board until funding can be secured to get some serious work done.
