Default OSU vs Memphis Intentional Foul?

Ok, maybe I don't follow these enough. But how does Oden, who drew the apparent intentional foul, get credit for the bucket (2 pts), THEN get 2 more shots, and the ball?

Isn't the premise really like a normal foul with possession afterwards? In which case, he gets the bucket and then only gets ONE shot afterwards (i.e. no four point play)

Anyone? I am sure there is an explanation of rules that I do not know.

Thanks

wish I could answer your question but I can't. Posting to go on record that the refs in this game SUCK pond water. They are absolutely helping Ohio win this game. The non goaltending call on Oden...a body foul on him they didn't call. The last foul called against Memphis was obviously an offensive foul....and a previous offensive foul on Oden also went uncalled. What a shame..........bleah.

I'm following you...The official rule of an intentional foul is 2 shots and the ball no matter if it was a shooting foul or not. So if it happens at midcourt, the team gets 2 free throws and the ball. Does that mean if he makes the bucket, gets intetionally fouled, he still gets the two shots? I dont know, but apparently according to this game.

Thanks Storm.

That is still strange to allow the "4 pt play" without any circumstances.

Huge buckeye fan here but I will give you the goaltending....obviously a blown call...however you need to consider that we had the pleasure of seeing it in slow motion instead of regular speed....would have been a tough call to see at regular speed as in slo-mo you can see the ball was just beginning to come down
