Default Fred Thompson and Watergate.

I thought good old Fred was going to announce on Leno tonight but it was last night.

We do need some more republican scandals right?

In the past Fred Thompson was a pro choice lobbyist. I wonder if this is as bad a being a pro life lobbyist? This is a great concern to evangelicals right?

There has also been some rampant nepotism that greatly benefited his sons as well.

But that is all boring when compared to when Fred was a staff member on a congressional committee that was investigating Watergate and good old Fred actually called someone from the white house at home to tell them that the committee already knew about the tapes and this was before anyone knew that the congress knew about the tapes in the first place.

This just screams obstruction of justice to me. This is just as bad if not worse than what President Nixon did.

while i'd be inclined to agree, it won't hurty his candidacy with the GOP base.

they've made it abundantly clear that integrity and honesty are not values they hold dear. the life of the unborn (and rightfully so) is however and that will be his downfall.

well that and the fact he's running against folks who have a real shot at being nationally electable.

That's right hork. We've made that abudantly clear. We're the ones with William Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana, who was discovered with a lot of bribary money in his freezer and who is yet to resign. Not only that but he also diverted National Guardsmen from rescuing the poor people of New Orleans so they could escort him to his home to retrieve that money from his freezer.
I guess the difference is that Republicans proport to stand for a standard of morals and so when we're accused, we must step down while the Dems don't seem to hold to any standard of morals so all they need do is apologize, or in the case of William Jefferson, Democrat Louisiana, just thumb his nose at the rules of law and they receive a full pardon.

LMFFAO - you can't be serious, right? OMFG. Give it up. Seriously. I mean really. LOL. Where should I start? LOL. There are plently of crooked politicians, no doubt about that. But take the last 7 year of complete and UTTER BULL SH1T, and compare it to an isolated case of corruptioness (made up word - you should be used to it by now) on the Democratic side of the aisle and PRETEND that it all evens out? LMAO AGAIN! Nice try! Which time zone do you live in again? Oh, that's right. If it's not on FOX "News", it didn't happen, right? LOL. Pathetic.

For Pete's sake, you've got an anti-gay fag hating HOMO SEXUAL senator pretending he's not GAY fighting for his right to not be outed as a GAY, even though he fully admitted in a COURT OF LAW that he is GAY.

You've also got a SENATOR (Vitter) that engages in the services of prostitutes, but that's okay because he ADMITTED IT before charges where filed, and still, the GOP is the party of FAMILY VALUES? This is the same party that heralds Fred (is it past my bedtime?) Thompson as it's savior, who's on his third marraige? Please! It's beyond laughable, and even beyond ridiculous. Serioulsy, the best the pundits can say about the Savior Thompson is that he SMELLS good. That should serve your notice. See you in 2012 (maybe). LOL.

Let's see now we have the fugitive that has given to the Mrs. Clinton and Obama campaign that failed to appear in court when he was supposed to very recently.

Now I know that the word corruption and New Jersey go together sort of like the word corruption and republican go together but we may have some elected officials including member on city councils and even a few mayors in New Jersey that are being brought up on corruption charges. People in high places in New Jersey are giving their friends and associates favorable contracts to build things.

Didn't we just have the story of the rampant corruption in the way construction projects are being handed out at the defense department when it comes to Iraq?

And the democrats can even hide behind the media so that it appears that they have way less corruption than those evil republicans.

Well the media must have second thoughts because I saw this exact same story yesterday and the word democratic was not there yesterday but it was today. I am sure that everyone that read the story yesterday went back today to reread the story. So what was the media trying to hide?

And to say that one side is less corrupt in Washington is failing to miss the point. Are there other more difficult challenges that we face? I can't wait for the day that I do not have to ask this question ever again. And the way we are going as I clearly see in this thread that day is not going to come for a long, long time.

Story Here that talks about there is still corruption in New Jersey

Louisiana politics is sure fun to watch from far far away.

Jefferson was re-elected even after they found his frozen cash.

Senator Vitter, in the first poll after he admitted to being part of the DC Madame affair, had a 66% approval rating.

And of course the rampant turning of parties for political gain. For example last week state treasurer John Kennedy went from being a Dem to a Republican, in all likelihood to run against Senator Mary Landreau.

As for Fred Thompson, my feeling about him is: he may challenge George W. Bush's records for number of vacation days taken while President if given the chance. Always nice to know you're commander-in-chief is ready to tackle brush clearing when theres a war or two going on.

And isnt Mr. Thompson part of the ultra-liberal no-values Hollywood set?
