Verizon Heritage
Being played this week at the beautiful Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island. The course is actually open to the public year-round, but I cant play a round there till I get a pair of bermuda shorts in my clothing collections since thats a part of their dress code. The course is a relatively short compared to others on the tour, but its one that requires good shot making. The signature hole is the 18th, where players often hit their approach shot over a sound using the red and white lighthouse that is beyond the hole is an aiming marker. GAYBR is the defending champ is he set a tournament record going -20 last year. The winner's share is $1,026,000.

Thank you -mmm- for the explanation of Hilton Head Island. After hearing the name all this time I just never heard that it was an actual island.
A barrier island is an island just off a coast it would seem to me that there would have to be a bridge to get to the island but I could have that wrong.

The only way onto Hilton Head other than by plane or boat is a bridge albeit a short one. Probably less than a mile in length and it spans the Intercoastal Waterway. The island itself is not very large, only about 10miles long and 5 miles wide.

Boy stupid me yesterday of course it would take a bridge to get out to an island.
Now that can't always be the case. I would think there is not a bridge from the West Coast to Hawaii.
