Default NASCAR Qualifying?

When does NASCAR qualifying count? It seems like many races lately have not produced any qualifying dividends, even for the drivers in the #1-5 positions. How do we know when qualifying occurs or counts for dividends?

I don't know that they've been doing any qualifying, have they?
When they started racing again, it was done by draw or something...and I'd mentioned those wouldn't count. If they've started doing anything different, I'm not aware.

You'll note, no speeds showing on the above link, which tells me they're still not actually doing qualifying....and I've never seen how they're actually setting the field, but if it's a draw of some kind, and not earned in any real way, hard to justify divis for it. If you find how they're doing it, let me know here and we can go from there.

That's fine. I thought that back in the day, when qualifying was rained out, Jock$tocks still awarded dividends to the first five in the starting order, however that was determined (season points or something else?)

Not a big deal, because I don't really understand NASCAR anyway.

So we don't need to worry about qualifying dividends for the rest of the year, or will that change soon?

Yeah, they were determining by owners points or something relatively earned, but as far as I know order has been set by lottery of some kind since they came back. I've meant to look into it more, but really haven't.

I'm more than willing to do something different, but I did post in May that we wouldn't have qual divis while they were doing what they were doing....but then I also thought what they were doing was only going to be in May.
