Don't like just keep it at 3rd and 5 idea. Rather see a rugby scrum with a live ball until some1 runs it in. Like all the laterals and the end of a game. I like the idea of making it harder than a coin toss. Few conversions and a fg. As it sits a team who loses the toss has more of a chance. But still if they drive down and get a td game over. But if a PI then a FG they still have a chance.

How bout the rule stays as is and if both get a FG the longest wins. What if neither score ? Re flip?

Playoffs can't, so maybe you just keep playing full quarters until one ends with someone ahead, or a team forfeits because of exhaustion or lack of healthy players.

I think this idea would be great, but probably would never happen.
