Indiana Jones Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

***

I dunno...guess I expected more from it and probably shouldn't have. Certainly enjoyable...but for me, not nearly as much as The Last Crusade.

Don't let me deter you from seeing it, however....it was still a good movie

Title: Charlie Wilson's War
Rating: ****

As a side note, a completely poltical comment, but I guess one would understand [after watching this] why we cannot leave Iraq without rebuilding.

Star Trek

****1/2

I found about 5 things they did wrong with the movie (having grown up first watching TNG religiously than working my way back to the original), however there's about 1000 things JJ Abrams and crew did right (having mixed feelings on his work, loving Alias before it tailed off the last couple seasons, and currently Fringe is one of my fave shows; but am one of the few who loathed Lost from the get go). And 2 non-spoiler spoilers for those who havent seen it yet: 1) a guy in a red suit will die 2) Kirk will hook up with a green alien lady It is very much an action movie with little in character devolpment, and Im sure it'll piss off the hardcore trekkies but for everyone else its your usual 2 hour summer blockbuster movie.

I'd rate Star Trek about the same...at least a 4....

They did take some license in some places, but they also made a point to work in puzzle pieces so that, when they do the inevitable sequel(s) to this prequel it'll not only be logical extensions of this movie, but fit with the original show.

I thought the casting for the main characters was quite excellent, really. There was a (I felt unneeded) romantic twist I thought unusual, tho.

Taken.....*****

LOVED it. Always love a movie with tons of ----kicking action and the bad guys all lose.

Hey,

Harry Potter - Half Blood Prince

***

Long and slow for the most part. Left out what I thought were some important parts from the book. They probably should have split this one into two movies like they are The Deathly Hallows

He's Just Not That Into You

***

Typical chick-flick-meets-love-story. I watch a lot of these with my wife. If you liked My Best Friend's Girl, you might appreciate this. It is a true character-realizing-what-they-are movie, and was slow at times. Overall, it had a makes-you-love-your-significant-other effect.

Hey,

Watchmen

**

Long and slow and other than a few fights it was pretty boring. The directors cut is 24 minutes longer than the theater release. I probably would have given three stars if I hadn't had to watch the extra 24 minutes.

Orphan

A great date movie, it's a bit jumpy here and there with the oft "loud scary noises". I liked that the movie got a great reaction out of the audience. Everyone was clapping, laughing, and getting into the movie.

District 9

Amazing graphics, decent storyline (reminded me so much of the T.V. series "V"). I think I was expecting more because it was a Peter Jackson production, could've been a tad better.

Hey waterguy, you see they're bringing V back for this upcoming TV season (ABC I believe will have it)?

Most of the funny stuff is in the commercials for it, but something I found watchable.

Bleh, yeah. They're going to make changes to it and make it suck.
