Just can't wrap my head around Guardians as a sports team name.

Besides....Cleveland is one of the 20 least safe cities in America...........so....irony.

https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/w...ises-new-name/

Interesting read on where the name comes from, as well as where some others have

Guardians of Traffic- Marvel looking figures carved in the stantions of a bridge in Cleveland.

But one of the others I caught in another article is....how the Dodgers got their name. Early names being less 'thought through' or substantive, while still in NY they were called the Trolley Dodgers, because in those days people often had to dodge trolleys when crossing the street. Later, they shortened it to just Dodgers and the name has stuck all these years. So, if you ever wondered what a Dodger is...well, there you go.

Obviously the new one has a long ways to go.
