Default Racism by Jalen Rose?

This sure sounds like racism (by the left's definition) to me:

You got what you wanted, an all black team (neither equality OR equity).....and they lost to freakin' FRANCE!

Which point? That there are better players out there? Of course there are.

We have never sent our 15 best.

I've never liked that we even SEND professionals to play in an amateur competition....

But don't other countries send their professionals to compete against us? Isn't that the reason we abandoned college basketball players in the Olympics, because other countries were using their professionals and starting to beat us?

Fair is fair, after all. Or would you rather see Jalen Suggs try to guard Luka Doncic in the Olympics? No contest.

HUUge door opens for discussion...

Professionals 'degrade' the spirit and history of the Olympics!

The Olympic Committee is spineless, sexist and too willing to bend to politics and economics (2 formidable obstacles).

The professional organisations that allow their athletes to participate 'can' help by not allowing it.

Ultimately, its the IOC that would need to re-draft and employ eligibility rules.
What makes a professional in this day and age? Earnings MORE than a reasonable living wage, in my opinion. Each country/athlete weighed accordingly.

it is what it is and its ruined :/

Can't remember if it started with basketball or hockey but I know they're thinking that more people will watch the Olympics if there are more competitors that people are familiar with.....pros.

I am against that thinking and I agree, the games are no longer what they were meant to be.

I think t would be completely acceptable for an NBA player to play IF they stepped away from the game for ~16 months (unpaid). The Olympics are every four years so if you want to play for gold...plan ahead! Then that should only be good for an invite to try-out....sill have to beat out hungry young players to EARN a spot.
THAT is the kind of sacrifice professionals should have to make to be an Olympian.

And don't forget about tennis, golf, and even swimming and gymnastics, where these athletes are all basically the "professionals" of their respective sports. Some of the sports are more financially lucrative than others, but when you do something full-time for a living, it's your professional career, regardless of what else anyone wants to call it.

NBA players aren't happy with $40mil salaries these days, let alone give one up...

This NIL thing in college was stupidly set up as well....how did they go from 0 to allowing kids to become millionaires while freshmen in college and not at least try working out salaries first? Instead, free education and some earning more even before a draft than many of us will earn in a lifetime.....smh

Now this moron (Rose) makes a statement about the Rittenhouse not guilty verdict by displaying his idiocy and complete ignorance of any facts.........he claims that the "killing" of unarmed Jacob Blake was the reason people were out "protesting" on Aug 25, 2020.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLLeWKOd1bk

He wasn't unarmed, he IS still alive, cops directed him to drop his knife...he refused and tried to leave the scene in a stolen car with a child in the back seat.

Jalen Rose....you ARE a moron.
