Default Be wary of those intertubes

Ok I watched some of the youtube/Dem debate the other night. It had some good in it (the questions posed were far better than most Ive heard from any moderator which sadly showed the decrepit state of modern punditry). It had some bad (too much "cutesy" stuff with the videos, could have given the candidates more time to answer, and given all candidates the oppurtunity to answer all the questions). But overall Id give the format a very marginal thumbs up. So of course Im a bit disappointed to see that only Mccain and fringe element contender Ron Paul are the only GOPers signed up for the Republican version of the debate in September. It sure doesnt do alot to overcome the Bush-era version of debates and town hall meetings on the conservative side where you make sure the audience is packed with loyalists and partisans. Or the last debate where the big moment was when they tried to one-up each other on who would use torture the most.

Its not all at once but has each question/answer segmented out in clips.

Okay. I've seen enough. There was hardly a difficult question asked of any of the candidates. This was hardly a non-friendly, let alone a independent "debate." The questions were already loaded to Dems positions or were absolutely stupid or totally irrelevant. And based on the audience applause for every Dems talking point question, I'd say the audience was definitely on Dem overload.

There is really on one question in this debate that needs to be discussed. It is question 16 about talking with some leaders from around the world face to face.

Question # 16

Now the media jumped on the chance to make Obama look like an arse when he said he would meet with the leaders of several countries face to face. Mrs. Clinton would only do this if some conditions were met because she would not want the talks to be used for propaganda purposes. Now the person that asked the question asked if the candidates would meet with the leaders of these countries without preconditions. So the media wants to make Mrs. Clinton look smart when all she really did was answer the question that was asked.

I have an excellent question about this particular question.

What do you hope to accomplish with face to face meetings with leaders of countries that to me are our enemies?

Both of them when answering this question talked about the only way to go is through diplomacy rhetoric.

I hope that if either one of them becomes president they can find diplomatic solutions to problems that to me are very dangerous. But neither one of them talked about what would happen if diplomatic solutions don't work. Politician will go out of their way to make complex problems sound like they have easy, quick fix solutions but in the real world that will not always be the case.

As I said in my previous post Mrs. Clinton said she didn't want to talk with these leaders of countries until certain conditions were met because she didn't want the talks to be used for propaganda purposes.

So I have a question.

Why talk with these leaders in the first place if you think one of the reasons they would want to talk is for propaganda purposes?

Because she's willing to talk about talking with them for HER propaganda purposes.

Well the link has changed to watch the democrat debate questions one by one.

Link Here

Why were the democrats not asked a question about abortion?

I know why to ask Rudy the abortion question because hopefully people will not vote for him because of a real fear he could beat Mrs. Clinton. I don't know why there is that fear but it is definitely there.

Has there been a republican debate yet where there has not been an abortion question?
