Default Johan vs Magglio

Just an observation......I'm sure there are other instances of something similar, but this is one I know...and it's kinda baffling to me.

Rhetorical question:
How is it that an entire league bats around .220 against a pitcher...virtually no individual player batting significantly higher..yet 1 (one) player bats over .400 CAREER against him?

That's Ordonez vs Santana.......last night it was Magglio 3 Twins 2 in yet another nice pitching duel where the Twins simply couldn't get clutch hits (left 14 on base)........3rd consecutive game where the Tigers beat the Twins by 1 run.

So far in the series it's Magglio 4 Twins 2.

That was only the 5th loss for Santana after the All-star break in the last four years.

Another question is how often does Johan lose at home?

Have the Yankees ever beaten Johan?

That Johan guy is pretty good.

Some batters just see the ball well against certain pitchers no matter who that pitcher is.

He lost at home to Tampa Bay of all teams earlier this season which snapped something like a 22 game winning streak at home for Johan. So he doesnt lost often in the dome.

How could Johan lose to Tampa Bay of all teams at home?

Maybe Tampa Bay has his number like Magglio Ordonez.

Johan had one bad inning.....which for him is giving up 3 runs

It was one of the few times he's given up 4 total runs (Carl Crawford hit an inside the park homer the following inning when it caromed oddly out of the corner).

In fact, Johan has yet to give up more than 4 runs this year...did so only once (5) last year......6 total times in 121 starts since his first Cy Young season in 2004. His streak is now up to like 110 starts in a row of going at least 5 innings....an ERA of under 2.75 during that span....and 888 Ks for an avg of 7.3 Ks over those 121 starts.

He just might make it in this league.....

You think?

I am kind of surprised someone would have to think if Johan could make in the majors.
