This is where the crux of our difference of opinion is, I think...

I am against gross corporate greed but I am not against corporations. I also think that many, if not all, of the politicians in Washington are bought and paid for by corporations and banks who then turn around and profit with the assistance of people who are put in charge of our tax dollars. I have thought that was the sentiment of many in the occupy movement.

If the #ows movement is just bums that are fighting for that cause, call me a bum...

hmm....well, huge difference here compared to my comment re law enforcement individuals....

...in the case of big corporations, the numbers are reversed..as in the percentage that IS a problem is a much larger group than those that are not. Now, in this case you could argue the number that are KNOWINGLY and INTENTIONALLY a problem is smaller...but the rest of them most certainly benefit from the laws, tax breaks, etc just the same.

Take a look at income tax and taxes in general. Health care, social security, etc. and then make the laws that are best applicable today that will benefit all and incumber few. Foreign policy, domestic policies, etc... this country has been running on "status quo" for so long there is little doubt in my mind that a complete overhaul of America's legal system would be a very good thing.

Problem is....it would be a virtual impossibility to scrap it all and start over without years of chaos and anarchy.

Just like our own lives in general. We may admit to some mistakes made in the past, we may not admit to some, we may not even realize still others. But we can't go back and start over, we have to start from where we are and go from there.

...but what's been going on forever is...they keep piece mailing short sighted short term solutions feeling the pressure to satisfy people today...how else can they get reelected so they can continue to enjoy all the perks they enjoy as public officials because the system continues to be controlled by big money

Police arrested protesters who sat on the ground and blocked traffic into New York City's financial district on Thursday, part of a day of mass gatherings in response to efforts to break up Occupy Wall Street camps nationwide.

Police in riot helmets hauled several protesters to their feet and handcuffed them at an intersection one block from Wall Street.
