Ok, I was right the first time.

If your portfolio value is $15,000,000 and you want to buy a stock at $100/share.

So, you can only purchase 10% of your total portfolio, which would make $1,500,000. Finally, 100,000 shares X $100/share would be $10,000,000, which is more than ten percent .. correct?

but if say 20k is less than 10% why can't we buy that? or does the 100k max pertain only to TV?

Thanks.

I will have to look into it tomorrow evening. Until then, I am incredibly sorry. I have to get up at 06:45am CST tomorrow, and I will not be back until very late. Hopefully, I will be able to address it then.

hmmm....well there's also the question of whether we WANT daytrading of 100kers outside of TV ports. Remember...this is somewhat an extension of amnesty...and amnesty is TV only.

I'm not saying I'd be against it, mind you...just sayin' the system was originally set up for purchases over 10k to be only for TV ports

I don't think 10K+ purchases should be allowed in non TV ports. If you amass enough money to obtain splits in quarterly/yearly, so be it, but I don't believe you should be able to purchase them outright

First, I gotta say that things get confusing enough 'round here without multi-topics in single threads, but hey, least I get to try out the multiquote ability

Looks very strange to me as well.. but I did some math.. using current moo rate of .0004 per 10,000 shares purchased means that to get the 6% moo that Kiprusoff got would require 150 purchases in total > 140 @ 10K and 10 @ 100K gets you 2.4 million shares.. what does this mean? highly unlikely that someone gamed the system.. it would take 14 scumbags to buy 10K 10 times, something I doubt.. most probable is that Nick/Orren raised the max per transaction?? let's ask them..

A) I'm for it.. more activity which IS the reason that we went for daytrading; and
B) I don't think this is in any way an extension of amnesty .. it is an increase in activity; and
C) Only slightly confusing now, wait until yearly.. I'll have legit 100K splits in both yearly and TV.. I can sell the TV ones but not the yearly ones.. good luck trying to remember that.. (Simplicity)

Oh, and while I'm ranting.. I think it's time to unsplit all the 100K's anyway.. moo and complexity are the problems with the current system.. no problems have been identified with the unsplitting scenario

I concur. unsplit them raise the split price to 10k. minimizes the confusion and still leaves plenty of stocks to stimulate activity.

as far as problems with unsplitting the 100k guys the only one i can see is the obligatory -----ing that accompanies any talk of changes with splitters. but even then the -----ing seems to be limited to only two or three folks.

Guess I hadn't thought about comp ports large enough to attain splits normally....so I'd have to agree...the LEAST complicated thing to do would be to resplit.

I'll have to see when I can find the time is all....damn 60 hour work weeks. But if I work enough 12s (yuk!) now I'll at least have more of my Saturday available.

as far as moo, tho...no clue...haven't actually touched that in quite awhile, honestly

Well, I'm no programmer, but here's what I think ya got:
10K buys are getting moo of .00038
100K buys are getting moo of .0038 OR 10x

in other words, the max per transaction isn't working... although it seems to be working on the sell/anti-moo side.

Subsequent to Joe's post, another 600K of Kiprusoff were bought, increasing the price another 2.8%.. Total moo was 8.5% while antimoo was -1.55%
