isn't this exactly why there are contracts?

don't those choices apply to anyone under contract?

wth is AP thinking?....be a Viking or retire.

i'm probably on the Vikings side of this one.

Who takes a contract seriously anymore?

The Vikings did and plan to....they paid him most of last season despite issues HE caused....and plan to do it again this coming season despite it being for more than any other RB's

But Adrian is apparently intending NOT to as if NOW is the time for him to take a stand for 'his fellow players' about guaranteed contracts

I actually think AP has switched "reasons" for being disgruntled at the Vikings and is really just disgruntled with the Vikings for some reason.

Is it his wife? His agent? Just from his known past, I don't think AP would actually care where he played football if it wasn't for someone pulling the strings. My first leaning is the agent Dogra...he is a sleeze ball agent who got no money from AP's current contract because he signed AP after that deal was done and now he may want to try and cash in. With his known drunken tirade earlier this year, he doesn't want to be proven wrong and may go to any lengths to make sure his claim that AP won't play for the Vikes again comes true.

I think if AP had any other agent, this situation may be completely differnt.

AP ain't that bright...no offense. AP likes to play football. What reason would AP have that would warrant him to forfeit a ginormous pile of money, over $12.7 million this season alone? Because, to him, the Vikings didn't do enough to support him while he went on trial for child abuse charges? Seems fairly petty to me...

I don't buy that he is now going to hold out for more money...guaranteed or whatever...and if that is the case, then this certainly would clearly point that Dogra is running the show. The funny thing is, AP doesn't have the media savvy to be able to sell his cause to the public. IMO, Dogra is an idiot.

Just from what I know..or have read

1.) Dogcrap..err Dogra was booted from the agency he'd been working for last fall...during the AP legal stuff (not sure if anything to do WITH that situation)....which tells you something..even his agency was tired of him

2.) Adrian, at the beginning of this year, talked about how he didn't feel he should have to rework his contract....yet now that's apparently his main motivation for ALL of this..only he wants to keep the same numbers, just have it all guaranteed

3.) You may be right regarding some strings, tho, because a couple months ago he'd talked about the 'attitude' of some in the community not being 'positive'.....sounding like his wife had probably just felt or heard comments from people in her neighborhood she didn't like....and likely complained to Adrian about it. The problem is, he's not figured out that this could and would happen in ANY neighborhood he would have lived in, so it's not like it's specifically Minnesota people.

Bottom line to me is...regardless of what his agent says, all Adrian really wants is to get more guaranteed money

Can't say I blame him. All posturing aside, there's a big difference between a multimillion-dollar salary and the unemployment line. Adrian is not stupid.

I'd venture a guess that is a direct result of a great coach/player relationship.
