Morneau's walk off
Anyone catch the official distance? It was an absolute bomb....
Two homeruns I saw live in person in the dome that were longer... 1. Jose Canseco....back in Oakland days...can't remember the details but I wanna say the thing was estimated over 475 ft. 2. Jason Giambi...hit one close to the Morneau one tonight only it actually hit one of the player banners up there...very impressive (I think this was during his 'roid campaign) |

One thing I've noticed over the years when it comes to measuring home runs is......every park handles it differently which would mean some are really nowhere near accurate or directly comparable. For example, if a ball lands in the upper deck 420ft from home plate...is 420ft the true measure of the home run? Or....if the upper deck weren't there, would it have landed 450ft out?
All I know is.....barely over the fence or onto the street 3 blocks down, it's scored the same. |
