Help me with some roster issues, please....
I know we have some guys who should be delisted as they're retired or even, unfortunately, deceased (Lidle)......I also know we have some guys who are no longer on active rosters and may not be again....then there's the pitchers who were SPs when we IPOd them but they're RPs now or vice versa......some need to be changed, perhaps some just need to go....
People ask, occasionally, why a certain player is even listed. For example, someone recently asked me why we have Chris Shelton listed when he's not even on the Tigers' roster. The easy answer for that, of course, is...at the time he was IPOd, he was not only on an active roster, but was on fire (beginning of last season). Something similar could be said of others- at the time of their IPO, they seemed worthy...even tho they may not be now. Help me clean up our baseball market while I (I promise!) try to get some IPOs ready to go. A newer member sent me this list so far.....I know there's more (like Braden Looper for example): SP Joel Pineiro - he's a RP not SP Runylves Hernandez - not on a roster Jason Johnson - not on a roster Victor Santos - he's a RP not SP Zach Minor - not on a roster Zach Day - not on a roster Brad Radke - retired Chan Ho Park - not on a roster Aaron Sele - he's a RP not SP Jorge Sosa - not on a roster Brett Myers - he's a RP not SP Shawn Chacon - he's a RP not SP Victor Zambrano - he's a RP not SP Brandon Claussen - not on a roster listed as RP Danny Kolb - not on a roster Mark Bellhorn - not on a roster Chris Shelton - not on a roster Angel Berroa - not on a roster Tim Salmon - retired David Bell - free agent Phil Nevin - free agent Bernie Williams - free agent Jeremy Reed - not on a roster Jorge Cantu - not on a roster Eric Young - retired (ESPN commentator) Tell me what you know about any o' these guys....if there's a good chance they'll be worth having, fine....otherwise, well you know the drill. If a former SP now RP may get back in a rotation or into a closer's role, fine...otherwise, well why keep 'em. We've got a few RPs already that have very limited reason to remain......that is, at least, unless we were to create a new category just for middle relievers or something... |

you can add bonba to that list. if for no other reason than principle and support for integrity in sports.
