Default Latest Trade Rumor

Phoenix gets: Kevin Garnett

Atlanta gets: Amare Stoudamire

Minny gets: #3 and #11

This is possibly the best rumor of them all, as all 3 teams get better from it. Minny will rebuild with Conley and Hawes or Thorton. Atlanta gets a solid man in the middle, someone that brings a winning attitude to a team of youngsters. Phoenix gets a grizzled vet that will play alongside Marion and Nash.

that would be stupid if the hawks go through with that (although given their recent history it might not be all that suprising).

with the amount of talent coming out in this years draft, and the undeniable fact that atlanta is desperate for a point guard they would have to be idiots to trade away waht amounts to either conley and green or wright and law. both combos will go miles further for the hawks than the addition of amare alone

but that's logical and we all know that logic and billy knight rarely travel the same circles.

Locally I heard Portland might be a 4th team in the mix....with the Blazers getting the #3 and Minny getting Zach Randolph....tho that'd have to involve more pieces. But Portland has been strongly considering finding a way to get another top 5 pick aiming at bringing Oden's longtime friend Conley to Portland with him. 'course that said, the Blazers aren't even fully locked in on Oden over Durant, so....

My head is spinning. Working all night while everyone here slept I figured the breaking news was spot on. Now Celtics seem unwilling to part w/ #5?

I mean honestly people. Right now with this draft would you select Shawn Marion top 5 if he were in this draft? Proven all-star with a non-stop motor who can steal, rebound, and block shots let alone finish with the best. Even shoots 3s decent. Great FT %. How could you not want him at #5. I do not want to part with him unless we get KG.

Marion is also 29 years old is is set to make $16.44Mil next season and $17.18Mil the next season. Compare that to the #5 pick ... $2.5 Mil and 20 or 21 years olf. All in all, I think I would take the pick. Ainge is FINALLY making a smart move by not giving the pick up. As far as who is the better player right now, sure it would be Marion. But factor in the age, salary, future, you have to keep the pick!
