The Greenbrier Classic
A new event on the tour, as this usurps the spot once held by the Buick Open. This is taking place at the Old White Course at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Your tax money at work once upon a time: even though its about a 4 hour drive from DC, the resort had a large underground bunker built at the height of the Cold War as a place to house Congress in the event of a nuclear strike on Washington (it was decommissioned in 1992). As for the course I dont have much info about it other than it hosted the Ryder Cup in 1979, which was the first to match the US and Europe as before that it was the US and Britian. The winner's share is $1,080,000.

Thanks Mark. It (the Old White Course) is an old style course and not long by tour standards (6800+ yds).
