Default Yankees don't even mention Joe Torre?!

Did I hear correctly?!

No mention of Roger Clemons....that, at least, has justification under the circumstances.

But Joe Torre takes the Yankees to the playoffs 12 straight years.......and they don't even mention him during all that ceremony?!

I'd like to hear the reasoning.....

not really..they mentioned knoblach and another I can't remember at the moment.

Not mentioning Torre is a glaring omission and there can be NO good explaination for that. Obviously, letting him go was the answer too eh? The boys in blue are hitting the golf courses early this year...bleah

The Dodgers did playing games in San Francisco over the weekend.

That is why Torre was not there but why the Yankees did not mention the guy that got the Yankees to twelve playoffs in a row and every year he was the manager there and won the world series four out of the first five years he was in New York.

I mean he does have the second most amount of wins as a Yankees manager as well.

Did Torre leave the Yankees on good terms?

I mean Yogi would not even go to Yankee Stadium for a long time because he was mad for some reason and I don't even really remember why.

Yogi was pissed at Steinbrenner for going back on his word. Georgieboy promised Yogi a full stint as manager of the Yanks....then fired him only weeks later.

Torre left under questionable? circumstances. His proposed contract for 2008 included a paycut (down to 5 mil per year....which still kept him as the highest paid mgr in baseball) and he wasn't happy with that...so he left.
