Default NFL.......

Have loved the game almost all of my 69 years on this planet. Almost....because of paperneck and his kneeling crap and all of the other morons that were copying and wearing ignorant shirts like "hands up don't shoot" (a proven false narrative)etc. So the NFL deals with the kneeling crap and makes rules to prevent it.....good on them.

What I have disliked and it's seems to get worse every year, is the taunting and talking schitt every time someone makes a play that they are getting paid millions to make. It will never stop as it goes on at every level.

Thoughts......?

Agree. And the national commentators picking out a player on every play and saying it was a spectacular play makes me even sicker. They are mostly the elite in their line of work. Aren't they doing what is expected of them? There is nothing great about a 6'4" receiver making a leaping catch over a 5'10" db. What other line of work is someone on the 'team' congratulated after every event?

I am trying to look pass the players (stupid) celebrations after a play and accredit it to a 'generational' thing.
But if I were the coach and any player celebrated a play while the team was behind would be pulled and sent to the "loner bench" away from teammates.

every bit of it feeds the 'me me me' mindset so many seem to feel justified in thinking.....
'I just made a great play' ....you didn't do it without help from teammates
the 'feed me' gesture
and my 'favorite'...the inexplicable need to make the official's first down gesture every stinkin' time...saw someone do it yesterday while getting up out of bounds, obviously as their 1st thought after getting hit....and they hadn't even MADE a 1st down

I really think (with apologies to those of the generation who are NOT this way) it's a generational thing.
I've talked with people for years about this kinda thing, wondering if it's just me getting older. We probably drove older people crazy with things we did and they had similar complaints about us...but by and large we still respected and appreciated them...which I just don't see now.

Don't piss off old people- the older we get, the less life in prison is a deterrent.
I'm pretty confident my last words will be 'well crap, that didn't work'.
Of all the things I've lost over the years, I think I miss my metabolism most of all.

I'm not adding this year to my age because I really didn't use it.

Agree with all of the above.

Detest the "feed me".....

You got a first down, (we know we can see the yellow line), get up, hand the ball to the official and get back to the huddle for the next play.

Multiple players running to the endzone to celebrate on defense and taunt
the crowd (think the Chargers did today)

Wow did that game just get interesting....

Barry Sanders was all class in that way throughout his career........make a big play, get up and go back to the huddle....score a touchdown, get up and hand the ball to an official.

I mean I get some of the celebrating, even enjoy some of the end zone group celebrations, but much of the individual celebrations are little more than twerking and totally ridiculous.

Young people likely just say we're showing our age.

And yeah, did the Chargers really just hold the Ravens to 3 1st downs, 74 total yards, and 3 points in 51 minutes only to put themselves at risk of 1 play to lose a 20 point lead in the final 9?! Why yes, yes they did.....

No one person impressed me like he did!

agreed, Sweetness was class as well

In the NBA, I may have mentioned in the past that I viewed Clyde Drexler as one class dude as well....played his entire career Jordan's shadow, always did a lot in the Portland area for community service, didn't care one aiota about 'pimping' himself in a bunch of commercials, etc. Met and talked to him and his wife in a Portland mall and solidified my team as the Trailblazers for years....before I simply lost interest.
