Default The Open

Being held at Carnoustie...one of the toughest Open courses in the rotation. This will be the 7th held there.

Defending Champion = Tiger (won by 2 over DIMCH.) He's won the last 2 Opens.

The last time it was held here was when the french guy...van de velde ( I think) choked up the Claret jug with some of the worst course manangement I have ever seen (even worse than Phil's debacle at the U.S. version of the Open) which yielded a triple bogey on the 72nd hole gift wrapping the win for home-grown Paul Lawrie.

The field:
Allenby, Robert
Ames, Stephen
Appleby, Stuart
Baddeley, Aaron
Beem, Rich
Byrd, Jonathan
Calcavecchia, Mark
Campbell, Chad
Choi, K.J.
Cink, Stewart

Hensby, Mark
Howell, Charles
Immelman, Trevor
Johnson, Zach
Kelly, Jerry
Kuchar, Matt

Leonard, Justin
Love III, Davis
Mayhan, Hunter
Micheel, Shaun

Thank You Rich.

A bigger collapse than Phil last year at Winged Foot? [U.S. Open]

That would take some doing. I seem to remember Phil only needed a par on the last hole to win it. Easy for me to say.

The last time Tiger played at Carnoustie it was one of his worst Open Championships ever. He was well over par and never really in contention. Tiger called Carnoustie probably the hardest British Open course he has ever played.

Now if Tiger calls Carnoustie hard it must be hard.

Tiger is trying to win his third Open Championship in a row. The last time that happened if I am remembering correctly was in the 50's.

Yes there is golf in Milwaukee this week as well. I will get to that field in a few minutes.
