The stats should not count. The Orioles did not get their "fair ups". Not only that, but the Yankees shouldn't have gotten the lead they have now, at least not yet. If you were watching the game, as I was, you would have seen it was raining CATS and DOGS, before the Yankees put up their 4 runs in the 8th. The game should have been delayed well before hand, and Mora almost got booted from the game for arguing that point once the umpires FINALLY called it for rain. Simply ridiculous, IMO. Although I'm sure some Yankees fans, like Rich and Hork would be ecstatic to learn that the well being of the players was put at risk in order for the Yankees to steal another win against the O's.

not in this case. the game suspended won't be continued until the end of next month. at that time the two games will count for our purposes as a DH (at least that's been the case in the past).

so as for tonight they're a wash.

I didn't see the game but judging from the weather all along the eastern US tonight i don't find it hard to believe it was pouring. what i don't understand is why they make us wait so long to call it.

shoot i'm no storm or anything but even i can tell when the state in question and the three surrounding it are all green and red on the weather map the storms aren't about to end anytime soon.

Ooooooooooooooppppppppps................didn't see it was postponed to a later date (forgot to check Friday's schedule. ASSuMEd they were playing again tomorrow). Sorry bobbums. Hork is correct. HAD they been playing again tomorrow, THEN my answer would be correct.

The game isn't official (despite being past 5 innings) and therefore the stats aren't official..................tho it's even more a pain in the butt on my end to deal with this stuff than, for example, the STL/NYM postponement....

Had it been a rain shortened game and a winner declared, it'd be official...

If they never get a chance to complete dont they revert back to the last completed inning in which BALT was ahead by 2? What I mean is it is possible the game will not be needed. ANyone?

The completion is already set for July, so there is no chance of it not being completed.

This USED to be the rule, but I think it was changed a few years back. If the game is continued into the next inning and the trailing team takes the lead, they will make it up from the point of suspension.

Correct.....and if they're not ABLE to complete it from the point of suspension (or the game is deemed unnecessary at season's end), there IS no winner and stats from the game are not counted. That's part of why the Orioles were upset- they felt the game shoulda been suspended (actually called, giving them the win) BEFORE the Yankees batted in the 8th as the weather apparently warranted it.
