This is Ms. Pelosi's greatest accomplish off all. The other side of the aisle wanted to talk about ways to lower energy prices but of course this was not a part of the Ms. Pelosi agenda so there was no vote.

In fact Ms. Pelosi took her ball and went home. They actually adjourned and actually shut off the lights in the house chamber and no member of the house was allowed to even talk to reporters.

And Ms. Pelosi lectures the people about the abuses of the current president. We are a country of great and very bold ideas and although I was not buying what Obama said in Berlin for a second I do have enough respect for him to let him say whatever he wants.

Hopefully over her vacation Ms. Pelosi will be reminded of why her country is so great in the first place. And no I am not talking about giving everyone health care, saving the planet, giving away benefits to people that do not really need them, pretending we have fixed the economy when we really have not, supporting alternative fuels such as ethanol that make other prices besides that of gas to go up, raising the minimum wage, throwing even more money into education no matter what the results are and I am sure that Ms. Pelosi has a few other items on her agenda as well such as taxing only the top 5% salary earners so that even more of her brilliant ideas can become law.

I am sure that Ms. Pelosi will want to take the credit for gas prices per gallon going down. But the congress has done almost nothing to absolutely nothing to make them go down yet. Boy was I wrong the price of gas in some states was above four dollars a gallon which reduced the demand. And when demand decreases the price decreases as well. Well thank you for that Ms. Pelosi. You are doing a great job.

Except for the fact that you only want to listen to a certain set of ideas which just happens to be a part of your own agenda Ms. Pelosi when it comes to matters that should be even heard in your precious house.

There is really no need to have a story about this because members of the house were not allowed to speak after what happened in the house in the part of the capital that members of house usually speak to reporters to. And of course the main stream media would not want to report of story like this any way because it might put Ms. Pelosi in a negative light and we can't that now can we?

11. Ms Pelosi on her own decides what should and should not be discussed in the people's house.

Well I guess it is still the people's house anyway.

Well here is the story from my last post.

The main stream media probably took a while because there was no democrat in the house left to give them what to say.

"The protesting conservatives gave impromptu speeches and nearly filled the seats of the chamber with staffers, Boy Scouts and tourists in an attempt to pressure Democrats to hold a vote on offshore oil drilling and other GOP energy ideas. Republicans say about 45 congressmen took part."

How dare these people in bold touch Ms. Pelosi's floor. I would hope that Ms. Pelosi has surveillance cameras to watch the house floor at all times. The surveillance cameras would be needed because CSPAN was not allowed to show this part of the house proceedings because the cameras had been turned off. The surveillance cameras would be needed to see who these ordinary citizens on the house floor are so Ms. Pelosi would deal these people whatever punishment she alone felt was necessary. I would hope at the very least with regards to the actual republican house members there will be a real need for some incessant house ethics committee meetings to tell the people how wrong these republicans were in their own actions on the house floor no less.

It is pretty amazing that there were almost no democrats in the house chamber when actual ordinary citizens were on the house floor. It is incredibly rare for non members of the house to be on the house floor; even though there would be no house without the people. I can only think of three reasons when there have been non members of the house on the floor. The staff of members are allowed on the house floor many times to flip charts when members of the house are speaking on a whole number of different issues except of course to discuss some alternative energy sources but I am sure Ms. Pelosi would give the o.k. on some alternative energy sources but that would have to be a part of her own agenda. This does remind me of the republicans attitude when they ruled the house for over a decade as well. Ms. Pelosi acting like a republican; that for some reason does not really surprise me. The other occasion when non members of the house were allowed on the floor was during Ms. Pelosi's coronation early last year there were lots of family members of the members of the house on the floor at the same time. I thought that was amazing at the time because ordinary citizens were on the house floor but today for many reason may go down as one of the most memorable days in the recent history of the House of Representatives. There is other various members of staff as well. Just as an example there is a house reading clerk that reads the bills out loud.

12. Well we have spending bill that is about $600,000,000,000 that I am sure has 0% pork in it.

That would be rather difficult though for this particular spending bill to have zero pork in it because this is the one of the last chances for congress to give the people reasons to vote for them in early November.

Story Here

And no this is not the rescue or bailout or whatever one wants to call it. That will be coming sometime latter on today I would hope.

This spending bill has 25 billion in loans to auto makers; about 25 billion for disaster relief including flooding and hurricane efforts, 2 billion for pell grants, and about 5 billion for low income energy assistance.

Math hat back on again. That is only about 57 billion that CNN wants to report about what about the other about 540 billion dollars what is that going to be spent on I am just asking.

CNN is also reporting that we may be getting another stimulus package as well. I guess we need another stimulus package because the first one this year must not have had the desired effect because of this horrible economy.

Do we even know the details of bailout yet or are we just supposed to just go along with whatever the congress comes up with?

I only ask this question because if we do not know what the details of this how are we supposed to make an informed decision if this is a good deal or not?

Will this be the last gasp of one of the most pathetic sessions of congress in quite some time?

13. A bailout, rescue or whatever a person wants to call it bill with a little pork added by the senate so that the bill would eventually pass in the house four days after the house rejected the bill.

So last Thursday we had both presidential candidates along with congressional leaders, the president, and the treasury secretary in a meeting at the White House and nothing got done. Well Obama started to talk and the bickering started but of course it was McCain's fault because he was the one that "inserted presidential politics" into the discussion and of course Obama did no such thing of course.

So we move to this past Monday. Members of the house did not pass the so called rescue.

So the congress the senate passed a revised rescue bill and the house passed it overwhelmingly just yesterday.

So what were these revisions P?

Some regulations to make sure this type of thing does not happen again. No of course not that would be way to practical during an election year.

The revisions were actually pork so members of the house could go back to their districts and say we have revised the excise tax on arrows that are used by children and other such crap. Why am I thinking of atmospheric water harvesting for some reason?

So we have a bill that is either a rescue a bailout or whatever a person wants to call it and some pork added latter on as well so that the house will pass the darn thing.

If this is indeed the last gasp I think this bill is quite an appropriate ending for this particular congress.

This is not going to be fault of this congress oh no the president was the one that signed it into law and the president expressed he so wanted this bill as well.

I doubt people will even remember who was in control of congress a decade from now when we are right back where we started which is where we are now.

I find the title of this article rather interesting. The words 'threat to economy' are used in such a way that would indicate to me that there is no real threat to the economy whatsoever. So a question should be asked if our economy is not threatened then why would the congress do this particular bill in the first place? Just because the president says the bill is needed and the congress gives the president what he says he wants. How has that been going in the last little over seven years now?

I love how this article calls this a bipartisan effort. Well there have been three major pieces of legislation that have been called bipartisan since September of 2001 and they are the patriot act of 2001, use of military force in Iraq, and even though it failed last year the comprehensive illegal immigration bill was also a bipartisan effort before it fell apart. And as I just mentioned this particular bill is being called a bipartisan effort by none other than Speaker Pelosi as well. I think a much more accurate description of the word bipartisan when Washington says the word is screw the people and darn the consequences of our own actions.

I never will forget back late in 2006 Senator Reid complained that the previous congress to the one we have now was a "do nothing" congress.

Well this congress has been doing something at least since January of last year.

And here is the list in the order that I talked about them since middle of July of this year when Speaker Pelosi called the president we have now a "total failure".

1. Renaming of a ton of post offices.
2. Requiring that compact florescent light bulbs will be mandatory by a certain year.
3. Protection of telecommunications companies when it comes to there role which in many cases involve the war on terror.
4. The America Competes Act that funds programs that deal with science, technology, and research; and it also funds state education grants as well.
5. Did provide funds to rebuild a bridge in Minnesota.
6. The so called "stimulus package" bill.
7. Increasing the average mph to be at least 35.
8. I am sure there has been at least one supplemental expenditure bill so that they feds can hand out Social Security checks and keep our wonderful national parks open as well.
9. Led's story talks about the feds bailing out people that those evil predatory lenders made people sign mortgages that they had no business signing in the first place.
10. The president signed a reauthorization that help to fight around the world such things as HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
11. Ms Pelosi on her own decides what should and should not be discussed in the people's house.

Well I guess it is still the people's house anyway.

Just a stab in the dark since I have no idea on the background on that, but perhaps something like bipolarism where you can work with that if medicated right (though still kind of worrisome), or maybe they count general depression as a mental illness in this day and age. And who wouldnt be depressed if the past 20 years you worked under Bush/Clinton/Bush???

i'm pretty sure what peter's referring to is the mentally ill offender treatment and crime reduction reauthorization and improvement act passed by the Senate last month. and recently on the house floor.

basically the bill reauthorizes the Mentally Ill Offender Treatment and Crime Reduction Act for another five years. It also expands training for law enforcement officers to identify and respond appropriately to individuals with mental illnesses.

And let's not forget San Fran Nan's statement, ""The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history."

William Jefferson, Democrat, Luisiana and his "cold cash"
William Jefferson, Democrat, Luisiana and his redirection of National Guard troops from rescuing Katrina victims to retrieve said "cold cash"
Tim Mahoney, Democrat, Florida and his mistress
Tim Mahoney, Democrat, Florida and his illegal use of public funds for a bribe to shut her up

Oh, and no censorship, disciplinary action or even a hand slap
