Default Trivia

---hope this didn't post twice---
This program went on the air in 1937. It is still broadcast with NEW programs today. It is not news/sports/weather/talk/gameshow/etc. It is fictional with paid actors. It was origionally on radio, but is now a TV program.
<<<hint:not The Simpsons OR Friends>>>

can't think of the answer....but was chuckling thinking about Bart Simpson being in the 3rd grade since 1937....

'3rd grade- best 71 years of my life'

Default parrotheadduff got it

It was originally centered on a minister and his family(THE GUIDING LIGHT title makes more sense, now). Somewhere when, or after, the characters and the REAL ACTORS went off to war, the focus shifted to a hospital.
Others that carried overyears are estimated)
Gunsmoke---Radio 1950-1960...TV1956-1976
Deagnet---radio 1950-1960...TV1955-1962, 1966-1968<<<<Jack Webb was a radio genius. The TV show was laughable, but he was a precise radio director.
---an odd one: Have Gun Will Travel was a TV show in the the 50's, after a year they also ran it as a radio show because of it's success.

As you may have guessed, I'm a fan of the old time radio(OTR). Anyone interested... try XM CH 164(unless they screw it up with the Sirius merger)/otr.com/ shrub_god@yahoo.com

BTW I was born in 1957, OTR died in 1962. I never heard OTR until I was fiddling with my XM radio in 2003.
