When does golf only comp end? I stopped playing after the championship. I have never understood this.

Partly my fault.....they changed how seasons end and the new ones begin, but we've been continuing to use the calendar year.

Rich could give you a better answer on what's a PGA tournament we'd divi, but I think the last few in mid-November/early December are not. I'm thinking the one ending Nov 18.

Next year I'll try to put a list together of diviable tournaments and comp end dates...you'd think I'd have done that by now.

To make it easy...only tournaments that award Fed-Ex cup pts are diviable.(Except for match play). Orren is correct Nov 18th is the last tourn of this calendar year that will/should divi.

Thanks. I get that, but the question wasn’t what tourneys divi but how long the comp goes. To me it should end with the championship. If these fed ex points apply to next year, it would seem that should be the start of a new comp, or just leave them off and wait until January.

I missed the first tournament this summer before I decided to play and have been trying to catch up the whole time. i doubt if either of us would have caught up for first place, and you likely would have stayed ahead of me for second had you kept on. This weekend is odd with the time zone difference too.

Because of compounding it is nearly impossible to miss an early week and catch up unless the person in front takes a couple weeks off.

I understand both ways....they're playing tournaments that are part of the 2019 schedule now. However, there's also the otherwise natural gap between mid-Nov and January as far as a break in comps. It doesn't matter to me. I can end the comp after this week and start a new one, that's fine with me.

Yes I did Orren...and two years later more people are expressing resistance to the way it's done. Now, I agree with them.

I probably knew in the past that it was a calendar year, but you all know that when you get north of a certain age you only have enough brain cells to rember certin things. i depended on my logic and not my smarts. However long it goes is fine, and it makes sense to keep golf going as long as the pros are going, personally I just need to remember.

so I'll let you guys vote......do we switch to following the PGA year and end this comp after this tournament, starting a new one next week...which would end in late spring? Or stick with the calendar year...........as I said, I'm fine either way, although it'd mean a projection update this week if we switch

re memory, thunder....I always remember what a friend said years ago...as we get older, we think we get more forgetful when actually, we just have more crap to remember!

I'm fine with following the pga year, but should we start this next year.

Looks like 5 tourneys in 4 weekends before the break.

I'll play either way
