A tough life lesson with an important message.

This story is going to have very raw emotions from me.

Don't say I did not warn you!

I am writing about this for two reasons. I need to talk about it and it also has a very important message about friends and family.

I knew this girl in the early 1990's. She was a very important person in my life and one of only a handful of things I really cared about in my entire life. I can not even really describe in words how much I liked her.

As time moved on we drifted farther and farther apart. I knew that she would eventually be married and at the time I was not really ready to deal with that.

But in the last few days I have felt really stupid. I know that marriage can change people; but the heart of people will never change and at the time I did not want to deal her getting married.

There is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that yes she may have felt differently at least to certain degree after she was married about me but there is no doubt we should would have still been friends.

So there is a very important moral to my very raw story. I want people to stay in touch with people that they really care about no matter what barriers or obstacles that people put between each other. The main obstacle in my story was I was not really ready to deal with her getting married at the time.

So please for me whatever you have going on in your life please stay in touch with the people that you really care about.
