Anybody bought a mattress lately?
OK, so I need a new mattress....been thinking about it a while and getting serious this weekend, given possible sale prices. Up to this point I've been thinking bed-in-a-box- downside being no try before buy (but ample time to return supposedly). I haven't needed a mattress since this whole buy a bed online thing even became a thing.
A guy can go crazy with all the reviews, comparisons, and options out there. I don't want to go cheap- after all, a guy spends a third of his life on this thing...but I'm also not paying $4000 at this point. What some say is firm, others say isn't as firm as someone else's. What some say is good for side sleepers, others say is better for back sleepers. Best value isn't the same as best mattress, but where's the line? I'm getting tired just trying to wade thru all the crap. Right now, I've been getting close to ordering a Nectar, but don't want to do it just because it fits that 'best value' mark. I'd go Purple if I wasn't feeling like I'm paying a little for their marketing...plus now they have the 'new' Purple, higher price point. I just want to sleep thru the night and not wake up sore.

I've been shopping recently too. We've settled on a Tuft and Needle. Some of the bed in a box companies have storefronts to go try them out. But the return policies are nice if you don't live near one.
Good luck! |

Tuft and Needle is, I believe, Amazon's entry into mattresses. Good value, not as many layers, but some of these people seem to assume more layers equals more luxury.
