steve,
i was thinking about your question and was wondering. you are aware that dating does not utilize normal carbon molecules but rather a radioactive isotope right? and you also realize that even the most unstable radioactive material has a given (even if not identified) half-life and it is this half-life that is utilized in the dating procedure right? only asking because the more i thought about your question the more it seemed as though you were under the impression that the actual carbon molecule itself is what is being dated. and just wanted to clarify. if you were aware i apologize, and sincerely didn't mean to be condesending by asking.

As for the carbon isotopes, it's just been too long since I studied (LOL) any of that. So please feel free to be condesending (j/k) and 'splain it to me.
