I voted Tiger......IF he hits the fairways and greens like he did yesterday.

i'll vote for who cares? just as long as it ends. this tourney has been a waste and i'm looking forward to returning to golf that makes checking scorecards worthwhile.

clueless, apathetic, and still not convinced it's a sport (i'll give it game status and a very lucrative game at that) to be precise. were it not for jockstocks it would never cross my mind. hence the reason i'm eager to get back to a tourney that's worth the effort to check scorecards.

I grew up less than 5 miles from the Oakmont Country Club. This weekend two of my sons went to Verona (borders Oakmont) for a birthday party being given for my son Charlie. I had the option to go up with them and go to the US Open. I seriously thought about it and realized that I found sitting on my porch, drinking and reading a book was more exciting than watching golf.

In other words...I gotta agree with Ken on this. Sorry Rich, you know I love you, but golf bores me to death.

Happy Fathers Day to all!!!

While I appreciate that we have taken a significant beating on our splitters for 3 days and agree that we have not had but one stock cover all week, it is beyond me how you can not consider golf a sport. Splain please......

lol.....understood Claire........if you ever had occasion to play...more than once...most get hooked. I'd also bet that after your hectic 1st 6 months of the year (especially the 1st 4) that beer/book/ etc is exactly what you need.

Actually I have played, sort of. When I was at Penn State I took a golf course as a phys ed requirement. Couldn't even get into it then. "Course the fact that I wasn't any good at it might have been a factor

Sounds like my wife....she's played quite a few times but isn't very good either. She'd rather drive the cart with a cocktail in hand anyway.

David Feherty (a golf announcer) says he'd rather sleep with Lee Trevino than play golf with his wife......

i put it in the same category as fishing, bowling, curling, skeet shooting, etc.

all of these require talent and coordination to excel no doubt.

i'll not criticize those who play nor will i downplay the amount of practice and effort it requires to be elite in each of them.

i'd say golf is a competitive game but it's pretty clear (just look at several card holders on the tour) that it doesn't require extreme amounts of physical fitness, exertion, or athletic ability. hence my reasoning for not considering it an athletic sport.

again i'm not badmouthing the game nor those that play. and i'm not downplaying the difficulty level of the game itself (i've played before so i recognize it's not the easiest thing to do).
