Default This site or StarStreet?

Hey guys I want to play in a sports stock market but I'm not sure if I want to join this one or StarStreet.com. Has anyone tried both and if so, which would you recommend? Starstreet lets you play for real money which is pretty enticing.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks

I've never tried starstreet, but I can assure you.....you'll have a blast here. We don't play for real $$ here.....the stress of doing so is non existant.

Give them both a try ...no reason why you can't play both.

First of all, welcome to Jockstocks. Don't be afraid to ask any questions as they arise. Both Orren [the other owner] and I hang out around the site most of the day!

I totally agree with what Rich said. We want you to go try other games. We know we have a good thing, but we also know that it isn't for everybody.

Again, just let us [or really anybody] know if you have any questions!

the game is what's most important, after all....if what you're after is making real money, there are many ways to do that....and I have no idea how StarStreet works..if it's something that makes sense, or what. For example, there was a game similar to ours (ProTrade) that faded out..not because they didn't have backing to continue, but because most had a hard time figuring out how the game worked

I'll put our stock simulation against any you may find in that regard.

But the guys are right, try both and see which GAME you like best. We don't have a play for real money option here..at least yet (or really in our plans at all)...but our game is fun and challenging

I agree with the others, try both games out. Personally, I couldn't imagine or want the added stress of playing this game or a game like it for real money. There is enough daily stress with real stock markets, don't need that in my fantasy world either. lol I hope to see you playing here when all is said and done.

I checked into this game real quick. It involves real money and real money only, no option not to.

You can only buy stocks via IPO or if another player is selling shares of a stock. You just can't buy and sell whatever you feel like. Dividends (payouts) are paid at the end of the season for that particular sector. Payouts are based on a fantasy sports points accumulated throughout the season.

Seems like a slow paced hold onto your stocks for a bit of time game. I may be wrong but I don't think their is much day trading or any type of moo. IMO

Well, day-trading would be dependent on the people buying and selling, which is technically more like the stock markets.

But, the catch-22 is that if nobody is selling then nobody is buying

Very true. Seems like you need lots and lots of active players to make it interesting.

I looked at the site. Only a 11 MLB players listed. Looking at leaderboards time periods, doesn't seem to be many playing the game.

But if becomes more active I could see it being fun if you have the time.

LOL @ Protrade. Had a ton of backing but the game was a joke. At least I got an Aikman helmet outta them before they folded.

have to agree with Rich here. After his question he had a little ad of what starskeet has over us. I would delete the post if he has not bought a stock for a few days.

I agree, but would give him a day or two to respond before deleting.

If true I don't see any of us trying it out based on the lack of activity over there. The only way I would try it out would be to buy stocks for long term, but if there is only 11 mlb stocks then that seems to be a waste also.
